Today, Facebook launched new custom gender options. “There’s going to be a lot of people for whom this is going to mean nothing, but for the few it does impact, it means the world,” said trans* Facebook software engineer Brielle Harrison.

This is a great step in the right direction. Reblog if you agree.

SelectNY has created a special campaign, SelectBravery2014, to support our mission of youth empowerment.

We’re showcasing people’s bravery resolutions- Iike our Youth Advisory Board Members, Shadille Estepan and  Zach Trebilcock, shown above. Each time someone clicks on their favorite resolution, BTWF will get a donation towards one of our programs.

Please help us make the world kinder and braver- check out the site and share with your friends.

How will you make the world kinder and braver in 2014? Select NY is launching the Select Bravery Campaign to raise awareness and funding for our programs.
Join Us!  Tell us how you want to be kinder and braver this year. This is all you have to do:

1. Write your Bravery Resolution largely on a piece of paper: “In 2014, Bravery means I will…”
2. Pose and Snap a pic with your resolution.
3. Send it to bravery@selectny.com or post on Instagram with the hashtag #SelectBravery2014.
4. Check out the Select Bravery Campaign launch next week. With just a click you can help Born This Way Foundation win up to $20,000!

In the US, we have one day devoted to giving thanks. Two days are consumed with deals and bargains.

And now, we have one for giving back. Today is #GivingTuesday, and we’re hoping for your support.

So be kind. Be brave. And help us to give youth the tools they need to lead safe and empowered lives.

Thank you for making today a #giving one.
